What is SCWID?

Will we ever get to the source of this mystery?

Entrance to Mystery Spot

What is the undiscovered secret of this industrial revolution society? This is the mystery that first got me interested in the area. We've always had this strange heirloom in my family and, although I've got some idea what it's all about, no one seems to know what's at the heart of the mystery...

I inherited from my father (and from his father before him) a box of inexplicable treasures: some pages torn from a diary, what appears to be a small fragment of a larger map, and most exciting - plans to a strange machine called only the 'flaxobulator'...

From what I can piece together from the diary entries and my own family lore, it seems that there was some sort of secret society operating in Manchester during the industrial revolution. This society was known only as SCWID. It appears that the members of SCWID were party to some great secret, but that this was hidden centuries ago. So little is known and so much yet to be discovered.

  • What does SCWID stand for?
  • What was their secret?
  • Who were the other members of SCWID?
  • What is the flaxobulator and what does it do?
